Short-time sinusoidal phases are e ciently approximated by incorporating linear prediction, spectral sampling, delay compensation, and phase correction techniques. The algorithm is di erent than phase compensation methods proposed for multi-pulse LPC in that it has been tailored to sinusoidal transform coding of speech signals. Performance analysis on a large speech database indicates considerable improvement in temporal and spectral matching between the original and reconstructed signals as compared to other sinusoidal phase models as well as improved subjective quality of the reproduced speech.

Long Interpolation of Audio Signals Using Linear Prediction in Sinusoidal Modeling*
Within the context of sinusoidal modeling, a new method for the interpolation of sinusoidal components is proposed. It is shown that autoregressive modeling of the amplitude and frequency parameters of these components allows us to interpolate missing audio data realistically, especially in the case of musical modulations such as vibrato or tremolo. The problem of phase discontinuity at the gap...
متن کاملAn Investigation of Asphaltene Deposition Mechanisms During Natural Depletion Process by a Two Phase Modeling Using Genetic Algorithm Technique
In this work, the natural depletion process in sandstone and carbonate cores was modeled to investigate the asphaltene deposition mechanisms. A new permeability reduction correlation was proposed based on the Minssieux model that considers a combination of surface deposition, pore throat plugging, and filtration cake mechanisms. The results showed that the filtration cake is a dominant asphalte...
متن کاملNumerical modeling of three-phase flow through a Venturi meter using the LSSVM algorithm
One of the challenging problems in the Oil & Gas industry is accurate and reliable multiphase flow rate measurement in a three-phase flow. Application of methods with minimized uncertainty is required in the industry. Previous developed correlations for two-phase flow are complex and not capable of three-phase flow. Hence phase behavior identification in different conditions to designing and mo...
متن کاملAccidental Wow Defect Evaluation Using Sinusoidal Analysis Enhanced by Artificial Neural Networks
A method for evaluation of parasitic frequency modulation (wow) in archival audio is presented. The proposed approach utilizes sinusoidal components as their variations are highly correlated with the distortion variations. The sinusoidal components are extracted from audio signal by means of sinusoidal modeling procedures being often severely distorted and in case of wow also significantly modu...
متن کاملNew algorithms and error analysis for sinusoidal phase shifting interferometry
An alternative to the conventional linear phase shift in optical testing interferometers is a sinusoidal phase shift, which has the benefit of relaxing requirements on the phase-shifting mechanism. We propose error-compensating phasedemodulation algorithms and provide a new, comprehensive sensitivity analyses to random noise, nonlinearity, vibrations and calibration error to demonstrate that si...
